Data Collection and Analysis Workshop at the Support Center
We'll be leading a workshop on methods of data collection and analysis at the Support Center for Nonprofit Management on December 2. The workshop is the second in a three part series on program evaluation for nonprofit organizations and we are almost full to capacity. The session we're planning focuses on the nuts and bolts of collecting and analyzing data and is designed to give nonprofit staff the information they need to fullfill the evaluation requirements of their grants and, more generally, to better understand how their programs are working.
Participants in past workshops have found them very helpful. Here are some of the comments we've gotten back:
"Thank you very much Eric. I have already applied some of the points relevant to what my agency has been working on
regarding surveys – thanks"
"I just wanted to thank you for holding such an informative workshop at the Center for Nonprofit Management on Monday.
We are redesigning our surveys right now!"

Healthy Marriages Initiative
Some months ago we started working with the Osborne Association on an evaluaiton of the 'I Do Initative', a pilot program funded by the Children's Bureau to bring marriage education to underserved communities. We've had our eyes and ears open for information on the value of marriage education and came across a broadcast on our local NPR affiliate. You can get the audio of the segment here. Joy Jones, one of the guests on the program just wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post on the subject which you can see here.
